So progress has been slow but steady. In between studying for certifications and childrearing an hour here and there has resulted in the first rev of a mini sumo. The parts include a GM19 from Solarbotics, a pcb from batch pcb, and other bits and bobs from Sparkfun and other local suppliers. One major short in the board stymied progress briefly - but with a little help from a real EE we got it sorted. Below is the chassis assembly and the board schematic.
I know I have violated some rudimentary rules here - I'm new to the tool and still learning. All I need is functional for now.
